Cherokee National Forest officials are scheduled to remove hazardous trees in the Ocoee Ranger District on March 5. Access will be interrupted at Benton Falls during tree felling operations for the health and safety of visitors. The public is asked to avoid the area while Forest Service employees use chainsaws to cut dead and hazardous snags.
This operation will consist of felling several dead and hazardous trees around Benton Falls. The hazard trees pose a risk to hikers and visitors recreating near the falls. Signs will be posted, and trail guards will be on-scene to redirect visitors for their safety. Access will be returned at the conclusion of the project.
