On July 27th and 28th the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Polk County School system will be conducting live active shooter scenarios at the local schools. There will be a large presence of emergency vehicles on those days. These courses will be held at both Polk County and Copper Basin High School. Sheriff Steve Ross and School Superintendent James Jones are committed to the safety of students and staff in our schools. These will be challenging courses to help prepare officers and first responders for any situation that prayerfully will never happen.
