Thank you for your interest in trying out for “The Little Mermaid JR The Musical”! This year we have made some changes to our audition process, please read carefully.
1.
All students who wish to audition must have a parent or guardian present during their audition UNLESS they are already enrolled in an afterschool program, such as a sport or club, where they can report to before and after their audition. We will not have a teacher there to watch the students while they wait for auditions, so they will need an adult there to supervise them. While students are auditioning on stage parents must wait in the lobby. Those students who ride the afterschool bus and cannot come to any other audition time will audition Thursday September 14th from 3-5, during their afterschool time. If a student does not come to auditions with a parent or guardian to sit with them while they wait their turn, the student may forfeit their role in the play!
2.
All audition materials have been posted on the Polk County Drama Club Facebook Page. We are also including a QR code here to the specific materials. At their audition the students will be expected to sing a portion of the song for the part they wish to audition for, dance while singing, and recite a few lines. The students will be permitted to have their scripts with them on stage.

Due to a large amount of interest in this production, we have made a sign up sheet for auditions. Students must sign up using their polk-schools email. If you have any questions email destiny.dodson-jones@polk-schools.com. We are also including a QR code to the Google Form to sign up.
Students who wish to audition will be provided with a physical copy of the scripts listed in the audition materials at auditions. From there they will be asked to read a few lines then sing a portion of their audition song. It is highly encouraged for the students to dance while singing, and we will be giving creative freedom on the dance. Meaning, they get to make up their own dance to go with their vocal audition!
We look forward to seeing everyone’s auditions!
