This event is all about instructing students in topics in different educational stations such as birds of prey, wildlife, wilderness, fire management and aquatic life. Ocoee Nature Day will be held for Polk County, Copper Basin High School, and Chilhowee Middle School on Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. at the day use area of the Ocoee Whitewater Center. There will be a temporary CLOSURE of the vehicle bridge and picnic area during the event from approximately 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will be able to walk across the bridge to access hiking trails.
The stations will be taught by natural resources professionals from from the Forest Service, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee Division of Forestry, Tennessee State Parks, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Tennessee Valley Authority
