Event by Tricia Fields Hall
I want to welcome all who would like to participate in a Chilhowee mountain cleanup!!
Every year on March 26th me and my family go up and pick up all the trash our bags can hold, in remembrance of our beloved brother. Luke Fields.
March 26th is his birthday, he has been gone now for almost 10yrs. While we are picking up trash we have come across so many ash bags and boxes, even little dog tags with birth and death dates on them. For me and mine it’s a very special place. Not only are all the memories made on the mountain but a part of us is there in spirit.
I want to encourage anyone who knows of a loved one whose ashes or memories remain there to come together for them and make it a beautiful place again.
Instead of marking it up with paint and markers, let’s see about donating benches or picnic tables in memory of our loved ones. Or donating to the forestry, or an organization that you strongly believe in. Let’s be more productive, and less destructive.

On March 25th, grab your family, your church family, your friends etc. Come pick up a handful of trash, enjoy the outdoors, picnic, make some memories on Chilhowee, and make a difference. Let’s keep it clean and beautiful for the next generations to come.
Time will be from 9am til 3pm. We will be at and around the Gazebo, if our chemicals come in time we will be removing the graffiti. Regardless the graffiti will be removed.
