Full Job Description
Immediate full-time position for School Based Behavioral Health Liaison (SBBHL). Grant position for an enthusiastic clinician who is passionate about student mental health. Position will be based at Copper Basin High School in Copperhill, TN. (Polk County; Grades 7-12)
Tennessee’s SBBHL program uses the Multi-Tiered System of Support model and applies the Building Strong Brains and ACEs content in creating and implementing universal trauma informed practices in schools. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: SBBHL are master’s level mental health clinicians who work on-site at selected schools to support the behavioral health of all students and to benefit students with Social Emotional Disturbance (SED) or at risk of developing mental health or substance use disorder.
Examples of work activities include:
– providing training and consultation with teachers and staff,
– meeting with students individually and in groups,
– liaising with families and community organizations, and
– helping schools develop new ways to improve the social and emotional environment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Must have a master’s degree in the Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology) with some counseling experience. Prefer experience in a school setting.
Additional details: 40-hour work week, mostly on-site at identified school. Workdays are same as teachers’ calendar, i.e., 190 days per year. Pay is year-round.
Must be flexible and able to adapt to school policies and schedules, able to work remotely as required.
Base salary is $30,000, and higher pay intervals are based on years and relevance of experience in related field.
