Lillard Shadow Scholarship
Each year, VEC sponsors college scholarships for 4 graduating seniors whose parents or guardians are VEC customers. Scholarship awards are $500 per semester, renewable for up to 4 semesters. Applications are available in December of each year and the deadline for applications is in March. Applications are available from area high school guidance counselors or at any VEC service center. Polk County Chamber of Commerce Class of 2021 Scholarship
The Chamber is awarding a $1,000, nonrenewable scholarship to a graduate from the class of 2021. Applicants must be a permanent resident of Polk County with a minimum GPA of 2.5, and must enroll in a minimum of 12 college hours beginning in the Fall of 2021. Priority consideration will be given to students pursuing a degree in hospitality, tourism, business, or outdoor recreation. Scholarship applications will be available at both Copper Basin High School and Polk County High School, as well as the Chamber office and must be submitted by the deadline of February 26, 2021. Lee University Dean’s Scholarship
The Dean’s Scholarship for students beginning attendance Fall 2020 and thereafter is awarded to any student who has graduated from an approved high school with a 24-27 composite score on the ACT or 1160-1300 total score on the SAT. This scholarship award is $5,000 per year for a maximum total of $20,000 over four years or eight semesters. A 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester are required to maintain eligibility. Eligibility will be reviewed at the beginning of each academic year. This award is contingent upon the student not having attended another college/university following high school graduation. Dean’s scholarships are awarded by the Office of Admissions.
Lee University Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship for students beginning attendance Fall 2020 and thereafter is awarded to any student who has graduated from an approved high school with a 28-36 composite score on the ACT or 1310-1600 total score on the SAT. This scholarship award is $7,500 per year for a maximum total of $30,000 over four years or eight semesters. A 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester are required to maintain eligibility. Eligibility will be reviewed at the beginning of each academic year. This award is contingent upon the student not having attended another college/university following high school graduation. Presidential scholarships are awarded by the Office of Admissions.
AgCredit Scholarship
Graduating H.S. FFA member studying agriculture. (Limited to: Bledsoe, Bradley, Hamilton, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Polk, Rhea, Roane, and Sequatchie Counties). Unless noted otherwise, scholarships are for $500 per year at any college, university, technical or trade school within the state of Tennessee. Applications must be received electronically (with signatures) by January 31, 2021. The scholarship committee appointed by the Foundation Board Chairman will select the winners.

Graduating H.S. FFA member studying agriculture. (Meigs, McMinn, Bradley, Polk). Unless noted otherwise, scholarships are for $500 per year at any college, university, technical or trade school within the state of Tennessee. Applications must be received electronically (with signatures) by January 31, 2021. The scholarship committee appointed by the Foundation Board Chairman will select the winners.
MaryEllen Locher Scholarship Foundation Scholarships
Are given to the children of breast cancer patients – either survivors, those currently in treatment, or deceased. Please note that scholarships are limited to students residing within a 50-mile radius of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Tractor Supply Company Scholarship
Pursing a four-year degree in any area of agriculture. Applicant must complete financial analysis section of application and exhibit financial need. Recipients shall allow Tractor Supply Company to use photographs of themselves and their families in company advertising.AWARD: Approximately one scholarship at $3,000. Not guaranteed.
Access & Diversity Grant
The Access & Diversity Grant is designed to enhance the rate of participation, progression and completion in higher education by a diverse population of students. Priority is given to applicants who are members of two or more of the following populations that have been identified as under-served in our area: Adults, High-Need Program majors, low-income households, underrepresented populations (African American, Hispanic/Latino) or residents of Polk, Meigs, McMinn, and Monroe counties. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA to qualify. Recipients are eligible to receive $1,000 per semester for 12+ hours of enrollment and $500 per semester for 6-11 hours of enrollment.
Adrienne Emond/Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship
The Adrienne Emond/Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship is awarded annually to a female Education major from Bradley or Polk counties. This need-based scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation. Scholarship requires that students enroll in a minimum of six credit hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Scholarship recipient will need to submit a letter of appreciation to the Cleveland State Foundation.
Andrew J. and Marchie Cloud Scholarship
The Andrew J. and Marchie Cloud Scholarship is awarded annually to a Polk County High School graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA and 21 ACT score. This need-based scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation. Scholarship requires that students enroll in a minimum of six credit hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Scholarship recipient will need to submit a letter of appreciation to the Cleveland State Foundation.
BPW / Chassie Dillard Scholarship
The BPW / Chassie Dillard Scholarship is awarded annually to a female student from Bradley, Polk, or McMinn County. This scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation. Scholarship requires that students enroll in a minimum of six credit hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Scholarship recipient will need to submit a letter of appreciation to the Cleveland State Foundation.
Brown Stove Works, Inc. Scholarship
The Brown Stove Works, Inc. Scholarship is provided for children or grandchildren of current employees of Brown Stove Works, Inc. with minimum 2 yrs. continuous service or former employees with 20 yrs. continuous service. Second preference is for students who are graduates of a high school located in the counties of Bradley, Polk, McMinn or Meigs. To qualify, student must be a Tennessee resident with a minimum GPA of 3.0. This need-based scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation. Scholarship requires that students enroll in a minimum of twelve credit hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Scholarship recipient will need to submit a letter of appreciation to the Cleveland State Foundation.
Bryant and Madge Dupree Memorial Scholarship
The Bryant and Madge Dupree Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a Bradley, Polk, or McMinn County student pursuing an Office Administration degree or certificate. Second preference is for any Business Department major. This scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation. Scholarship requires that students enroll in a minimum of six credit hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Scholarship recipient will need to submit a letter of appreciation to the Cleveland State Foundation.

Grover C. Brown Scholarship
The Grover C. Brown Scholarship is provided for children or grandchildren of current employees of Brown Stove Works, Inc. with minimum 2 yrs. continuous service, or former employees with 20 yrs. continuous service. If none qualify, second preference is for students who are graduates of a high school located in the counties of Bradley, Polk, McMinn or Meigs. To qualify, student must be a Tennessee resident with a minimum GPA of 3.0, GED score of 600 or HiSet score of 16. This need-based scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation. Scholarship requires that students enroll in a minimum of twelve credit hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Scholarship recipient will need to submit a letter of appreciation to the Cleveland State Foundation.
Jan McCallum Darden, BSN, RN Scholarship
This is a need-based scholarship for students admitted to the Nursing Program. Students must be from Polk County. This scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation and requires that students enroll in a minimum of six credit hours and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Scholarship recipient will need to submit a letter of appreciation to the Cleveland State Foundation.

The Kenneth H. Brown Scholarship is provided for children or grandchildren of current employees of Brown Stove Works, Inc. with minimum 2 yrs. continuous service, or former employees with 20 yrs. continuous service. If none qualify, second preference is for students who are graduates of a high school located in the counties of Bradley, Polk, McMinn or Meigs. Mr. & Mrs. John L. Brewer, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
This need-based scholarship is provided through donations to the Cleveland State Foundation and awarded to two Polk County High School students in the upper 25% of their graduating class. Scholarship requires that students enroll in a minimum of six credit hours and maintain a 2.5 GPA. The Nell Higgins Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is a Polk County High School graduate. The People’s Bank of Polk County Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is a resident of Polk County, Tennessee. McDonald’s® HACER® National Scholarship
High school seniors may apply for a McDonalds scholarship, offered by the Ronald McDonald House Charities. $1000 awards based upon personal statement, high school transcripts (GPA 2.7 or higher), letter of recommendation and financial need.
