8/3 Different Strokes for Different Folks HIWASSEE/OCOEE SCENIC RIVER STATE PARK Delano, TN

Calling all skilled swimmers! We are starting a group that will meet once a month to swim against the current of the Hiwassee River. The goal here is to promote the Healthy Parks Healthy Person initiative and to build a community of strong swimmers.

WHERE: Gee Creek Visitor Center parking lot at our park. Located at: 404 Spring Creek Rd. Delano, TN  37325. Then we will drive approximately 1 mile to a nearby swimming hole along the river.

WHEN: Tuesday, 8/3/2021 at 9:00am rain or shine. The event may last from 30 minutes up to 1.5 hours.

WHAT TO BRING: Swim goggles, swimming attire and some swimming fins if you have them. Also bring a life jacket if you do not feel confident swimming in swift water.

DISCLAIMER: A TN State Parks liability waiver must be signed at the beginning of the event by all participants. Minors will have to be supervised by their guardian/parent during their participation.
