9/6 Bid Deadline for Ducktown Courthouse Roof

PUBLIC NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR SEALED BIDS
FOR THE ROOF AT THE DUCKTOWN COURTHOUSE
TO BE RECEIVED ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2022
Polk County Government is accepting sealed Bids for the Roof at the Ducktown Courthouse
The rafters will be 2×6 spruce on 24 inch centers. The lath will be 2×4 spruce on 24 inch centers. Any plates will be 2×6 pressure treated. All stiff legs & rake wall framing will be 2×4 spruce. Rafters will be braced up with 2×4 spruce sitting on 2×6 pressure treated plates.
Metal will be 29 gauge for the roof & the walls. Flashing will be 29 gauge 12 inches wide over all & bent at 6 inches. Metal will be screwed every 4 feet. The lower part of the roof will be hipped on the two corners & the main body will be on a 4×12 pitch that sheds to the rear of the building. There will be three inches of metal overhanging out past the roof edge.
The wooden framing will stop at the edge of the existing roof & only the metal will stick over. The plates around the outside edges of the roof will be fastened down every 8 feet & all the framing will be nailed together with (#16) or 3 inch long nails which will be galvanized.
Any bids over $25,000 will need to be turned in by a licensed Contractor.
The County reserves the right to accept and or reject any or all bids or bidders, in part or whole based on the County’s evaluation of what is in the best interest of the County.
*SEALED BIDS will be opened in County Executive Office – Room 202
**Accepting Sealed Bids until September 6th at 12 noon, and to be opened at 12:05 pm on
September 6, 2022.
